Displacement Application

This project explores a set of wheel shapes using displacement modeling methods combined with collage technique. Mold and press, a prominent wheel manufacturing techniques, parallels the concept of displacement in modeling processes; both create shapes that are formed in one direction but do not produce undercuts. In displacement method, the pixel brightness of an image serves as a mold that determines height.

By utilizing the characteristics of the image as a medium, I create patterns or spokes through the collage of paper, allowing for a unique interplay between form and visual representation.
